FAQ

What are the concrete floor requirements of my lift?

2-post lifts with a capacity less than 12,000 lbs. require four (4) inches of concrete at 3,000 psi.

2-post lifts with capacity at or above 12,000 lbs. require six (6) inches of concrete at 3,000 psi.

Check product specifications/capacity to determine requirements. Most garages have at least 4 inches. You may need to drill a test hole to measure the thickness of concrete before installing your lift for optimal safety.

How does a 2-post above ground lift work?

Using a two-post above-ground lift is complex and should be approached with caution. Please call one of our sales experts for detailed instructions and helpful information regarding this process.

Two-post above-ground lifts raise cars and trucks for easy access to wheel assemblies and the underside of a vehicle. This type of lift is mounted to an existing concrete surface with a minimum depth of 4 inches. Lifts with larger load capacities require additional concrete.

Lift specifications and instructions may vary based on the manufacturer, make and model. Please contact a sales expert for additional details on the best lift for your needs. Call (800) 794-6793 and selecting option 1 today.

What is the Atlas warranty?

Atlas provides a parts only warranty on all products. The length of the warranty is dependent upon the product. Standard wear items are covered by a 90-day warranty. Limited warranty policy does not include labor or service.

All warranties are non-transferable and are only valid to original purchaser. The warranty covers the products to be free of defects in material and workmanship but, does not cover normal maintenance or adjustments, damage or malfunction caused by improper handling, installation, abuse, misuse, negligence, carelessness of operation or normal wear and tear.

See product for full coverage details.

What type of hydraulic oil do I need to operate my lift?

Hydraulic fluid is the only fluid recommended for use with your lift. The lift manufacturer suggests using only AW 32 or AW 46 oil. All other types of fluid or oil including synthetic oil, automatic transmission fluid, or other substitutes are not recommended for use.

If I buy a lift or any wheel service equipment from Greg Smith Equipment Sales, how does the item(s) get delivered to me?

We ship most lifts or large equipment via semi-trucks (common carrier). Smaller equipment is shipped by Fed-Ex or UPS. In some instances, specialty lifts are too heavy for traditional packaging and will be shipped on a dedicated truck.

The customer is always responsible for unloading equipment, however, there are two options available if you are unable to accommodate a large semi-truck or cannot offload the equipment. These options may come at an additional charge.

Large equipment is processed through one or two transfer station terminals. If a terminal is near your business and has the proper loading equipment, you can pick your merchandise up there. Call the terminal to confirm.

Products may be delivered to other addresses with the equipment or facilities to unload your product from the semi-truck, at request.

Large trucks cannot easily access residential areas. It is up to the driver’s discretion to determine insufficient loading areas. In such instances, other unloading arrangements must be made.
