A signature is required for all freight deliveries. Prior to signing and accepting any freight, please insure it has been carefully inspected for any damage. The consignee or a delegated representative must be present to receive any item(s) at the time of delivery.

It is the responsibility of the consignee(s) (customer) to receive all item(s). The consignee or a delegated representative must be present to receive any item(s) at the time of delivery.

  • Customers are responsible for inspecting thoroughly all shipments for damage prior to signing and accepting their purchases.
  • Any item with damage should be refused.
  • The customer should decline the signature request and contact ToolTopia.com Customer Service to request replacement product or refund.
  • If a shipment is signed for without exception noted for damage, the customer will need to contact the freight carrier directly to file a claim.

The Consignee Responsibilities(s)

Failure for a consignee(s) to be present to accept a delivery may result in a delayed delivery and possible holding of the item(s) as well as additional charges by the freight company. If the freight company is unable to make delivery, storage charges for each day held will accrue. If held, these charges are the responsibility of the client who placed the order. In the event that neither the freight company nor ToolTopia.com are able to contact the client who placed the order, the item(s) will be returned to ToolTopia.com. In this event, the client who placed the order will be held responsible for any and all costs (including, but not limited to; storage and any additional delivery attempts). Also, at discretion ToolTopia.com may access a restocking fee.

Receiving Delivered Item(s)

The consignee is responsible for the removal of all item(s) from the truck. Driver(s) are not allowed or responsible for removing delivered item(s). Unless a lift gate service is requested at the time of the order, the consignee is responsible for handling the item(s) which may require a fork‐lift. If the shipment can't be unloaded, and the freight company is requested to return with a lift‐gate equipped truck, the consignee will be responsible for the cost.

Inspecting Your Shipment
Prior to signing and accepting any freight, please insure it has been carefully inspected for any damage.

It is the consignee's responsibility to inspect their shipment for any and all damages. If the item(s) have been damaged, the consignee should refuse the delivery and immediately contact ToolTopia.com. If the item has minor damage the consignee must write a precise description of the damage on both the consignees copy and the freight company's copy of the delivery waybill.

Please note: ToolTopia.com is exempt from any and all damages to any item(s) unless noted on the shipping waybill by the receiving consignee or if the shipment is refused. If the shipment is signed for with no damage noted, the consignee will need to file a claim with the carrier directly. ToolTopia.com will not reimburse the consignee for any damage not noted with the shipper at the time of delivery.

Concealed Loss or Damage

LTL shipments including but not limited to items such as toolboxes, recovery units, carts and portable cooling units, the damage may be completely hidden; a thorough inspection is imperative. The outer boxes and packing will likely need to be removed. Failure to inspect for damage or loss will mean no claim can be filed, therefore the customer will not receive credit.

If a customer discovers damage or missing product, they should refuse the shipment.

If the driver is reluctant to allow them to inspect, they should not accept the shipment.

If the damage is not discovered while the driver is there, it cannot be claimed.

Additional Atlas Lift Shipping Information:

All above information pertains to Atlas lift deliveries. Provided below is additional information relevant to your item(s) delivery. For FAQ’s around Atlas shipping, click here.

Atlas purchasers will be contacted by a sales representative with a freight quote for delivery. Some freight carriers have additional charges for residential delivery, power tail gate, or call ahead notification. Our customers will be informed of the total freight charges BEFORE the entire invoice is completed.

Freight Truck DeliveryMost lift shipments will be delivered by a commercial freight commercial carrier operating a 53’ tractor/trailer rig. It is the truck driver's responsibility to make sure that your product is brought to the back of the delivery truck. It is the customer's responsibility to unload the product from the truck.

Recommendations for unloading freight truck delivery:

  • Forklift
  • Power Tailgate
  • Shipping to a freight terminal
  • the freight terminal will load the product onto the customer's trailer or pickup truck

Calling Ahead to Schedule a Delivery Appointment Time

The commercial carrier can call ahead up to 24 hours before delivery to schedule (in rare cases, this feature is an extra charge by the carrier). It is important that the freight company has a working number so that they can make immediate contact. The call ahead feature is needed if the product is being delivered to a residence (or business located at a residence). It is the customer's responsibility to coordinate delivery arrangements and special needs with the commercial carrier. A permanent address is required for all deliveries, allowing for sufficient room for 53’ commercial carriers to enter and leave with ease. When a dispatcher calls to make delivery arrangements, the customer should inform the freight company of any potential delivery problems that may occur. ToolTopia cannot make those special delivery arrangements when the customer places the order.

*Please note: the call ahead feature can add 1-5 additional days to normal delivery time.

No Guarantee on Delivery Time and Date

ToolTopia is responsible for product stock information, shipment date, and an estimate on delivery. However, we cannot guarantee delivery date nor time.

Freight Shipping Policy

This item will be shipped by common carrier to a BUSINESS ADDRESS in the USA (lower 48 states). Free Freight Is ONLY to a BUSINESS ADDRESS in the USA (lower 48 states). A BUSINESS ADDRESS is defined as a delivery address on which there is no residential dwelling. Some small businesses are located on the same property as the owner's home. These businesses would be classified as a RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS. A FARM/RANCH would be considered a RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS. Limited access facilities (EG: schools, municipalities, county highway garages, storage facilities, military bases, prisons, etc.) will be subject to a delivery surcharge. Rule of thumb about limited access facilities: If the driver must call ahead or pass through a security checkpoint to access the delivery area, then that delivery point will be classified a limited access facility. A freight surcharge will apply. If you cannot locate a TRUE BUSINESS FACILITY that can receive your product, then please call us BEFORE you place your bid to find out what will be the additional cost of the freight surcharge. ToolTopia will make every effort to keep the additional RESIDENTIAL (and other non-business delivery addresses) surcharges to a minimum. These freight surcharges are dictated by the LTL shipping carrier and CANNOT "be waived" by ToolTopia. Please do NOT ASK for (or expect) FREIGHT if you cannot provide a "BONAFIDE" business location for delivery. Your product will arrive in an enclosed truck. It is the customer's responsibility to provide enough space for a 53 foot tractor/trailer to access the business facility AND the customer is responsible for unloading the product. Freight does not apply to an address (whether business or residential) to where a freight truck cannot access. Due to the weight of items that are freight shipped, a forklift (or similar) is required to unload it. The SHIPPING is valid ONLY to a legitimate business address (not a home business address) that maintains normal business hours. There may be a truck freight terminal in your area that can receive the product and help load the product in your truck if you do not have a business address or the ability to offload the product.
