These sockets are designed to remove the spark plugs on the exhaust side of the engine. The unique slotting shortens the effective length of the socket permitting greatly increased tool access. With this feature, you are able to load the socket onto the spark plug with a .500" clearance between the end of the socket tip and header tube or any other obstruction.
