Code-Assist® Library: Code-Assist is a powerful experienced-based tech tip searchable database. Unlike the traditional list of theoretical potential causes provided by some manuals, Code-Assist® provides over 4.5 million experience-based Confirmed Fixes™ for vehicle specific, OBD-II Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's).
  • An easy to find menu selection "Code-Assist® Library" in the Diagnostic Menu.
  • The library will utilize the DTC Library code selection screen that provides the ability to easily sort and select DTC's with Code-Assist® tech tips. Repair-Trac® Tech Tips by Identifix® is the largest database of known vehicle specific fixes available to the automotive aftermarket.
  • Once a DTC is selected, the next screen will display the Code-Assist® results screen.
  • The specific Code-Assist® tech tip is still available when a DTC is read.
Maintenance Tests Information: A scan tool is now required to do simple maintenance tests, such as, brake bleed, light resets, alignments, oil changes and more on most vehicles. However, finding these tests within the many specific system controllers can be difficult at best. To improve the user's ability to find and use these tests a new "Maintenance Tests" information screen is available.
  • A "Maintenance Tests" selection from the Controller screen will list the appropriate controller that contains the maintenance tests for that specific vehicle.
Coverage Application Guide Improvements: New application guides that provide specific maintenance tests by vehicle are available on the CD included in all Genisys® kits.
  • The new application guide identifies a vehicle by make, carline and year with columns for specific systems that include adjustment tests in the following areas.

Product Registration
A one-time registration is required at the initial start up of a new scan tool or software update. Registration can be by-passed and the tool operated in demo mode, however, the registration screen will come up every time the tool is powered on until registration is completed.

Software updates may be available for your scan tool. A new feature of System 5.0 is the ability to check on and make available those software updates for you.

top WARRANTY AND REPAIR INFORMATION:
OTC® provides factory warranty coverage with your tool purchase. The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser of the unit. The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship, but not physical damage, abuse, or normal wear. Consumables and accessories (i.e. batteries, sensors, cables) may not carry the same warranty as the tool. Please see the warranty statement that comes with the product for complete details.
To keep your product fully covered, please be sure to:

  • Register your product.

  • Keep your Proof of Purchase for Warranty Service.
    This is required for warrantied service.
    • The proof of purchase not only identifies the date that the warranty started, but also identifies the correct item purchased so the proper warranty and software updates are loaded. It also identifies the original purchaser of the unit. This would typically be a receipt or invoice that shows proof of payment and must include the part number and price. Order Acknowledgements cannot be used as a proof of purchase and hand written receipts are not accepted. Items may be returned to you unrepaired if a valid proof of purchase is not sent in with a warranty request.

Out of Box Failure
The Out of Box (OOB) Failure program is for products that fail within the first seven (7) days of use.

  • Very important:
    All claims must be initiated within the first seven (7) days of purchase / sale to be considered valid.

    OOB Failure Claims must be initiated through Service Solutions Technical Support: 1-800-533-5561.

  • For new, defective products only.
  • Product must be in new and salable condition.
  • Must be authorized through Technical Support.
  • A proof of purchase is required to validate the kit and software sold.
  • The program is open for original distributors and product owners.
  • The person initiating the call to Technical Support is responsible for the return of the defective unit in new condition.
  • Persons who do not have an account set up with Service Solutions will be required to secure the shipment by providing information for a valid credit card / charge card. The card will not be charged unless the defective unit is not returned in a timely manner.
  • Failure to return the unit will result in a charge.

Genisys EVO® Products are covered under the following Warranty:
Warranty: by Service Solutions U.S. L.L.C.
Warranty is expressly limited to original retail buyers of 'Service Solutions' New or Refurbished Electronic Diagnostic Tools ("Units")..

  • New Units and Smart Cables are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one year (12 months) from date of purchase.
  • Refurbished Units and Smart Cables are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for ninety (90) days from date of purchase.
  • Scope Module and Gas Module (Analyzer) are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for one year (12 months) from date of purchase.
  • Rechargeable Batteries, Cables, Sample Cell, 02 Sensor, NOx Sensor and Pump are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for ninety (90) days from date of purchase.
  • This warranty does not cover consumable items, including, without limitation, Non-rechargeable Batteries, Filters, Printer Paper, Calibration Gas, Case or Probe/Hose Assembly.
  • This warranty only covers products manufactured by Service Solutions. Service Solutions will pass through to the original purchaser all manufacturer warranties. For all products manufactured by third parties, please see the original manufacturer's warranty for details.

This Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser of the Unit and is not transferable. All warranty claims must be made within the warranty period and proof of purchase must be supplied. This Warranty does not cover the cost of freight to return the Unit of Service Solutions. This Warranty does not cover any Unit that has been abused, altered, opened, worn out, contaminated, used for a purpose other than that for which it was intended, or used in a manner inconsistent with instructions regarding use. This Warranty does not cover battery leakage. The sole and exclusive remedy for any Unit found to be defective is repair or replacement, at the option of Service Solutions. In no event shall Service Solutions be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages (including lost profit) whether based on warranty, contract, tort or any other legal theory. The existence of a defect shall be determined by Service Solutions in accordance with procedures established by Service Solutions. No one is authorized to make any statement or representation altering the terms of this warranty.

DISCLAIMER - The above Warranty is in lieu of any other Warranty, express or implied, including any Warranty of merchantibility or fitness for a particular purpose.

SOFTWARE - Unit software is proprietary, confidential information protected under copyright law. Users have no right in or title to Unit software other than a limited right of use revocable by Service Solutions. Unit software when correctly installed, will execute its programmed instructions. Service Solutions does not warrant that software will operate uninterrupted or error-free. Unit software may not be transferred or disclosed without the written consent of Service Solutions. Unit software may not be copied except in ordinary backup procedures.

SERVICE SOLUTIONS SOFTWARE
The above Warranty applies to product software except that, instead of warranting against defects in materials and workmanship, Service Solutions U.S. L.L.C. warrants that product software, when correctly installed, will execute its programmed instructions. Service Solutions does not warrant that software will operate uninterrupted or error-free. Product software is proprietary, confidential information protected under copyright law. Also protected under copyright law within the software are third party databases, RepairTRACK, and Code Assist from Identifix. Warranty Repairs or Replacements
Warranty repairs or replacements should be initiated through RepairTRACK. (see below)
If the product is under warranty, the warranty service reserves the right to repair or replace it with a new or similar tool. It is important to note RGA's (Return Goods Authorizations) will not be issued for a product that can be sent in through RepairTRACK.

RepairTRACK
RepairTrack offers you the ability to manage your OTC® products repair experience by providing you with an easy way to send your product in for repair and track it. First time users must register. You will immediately receive a notification email with your user ID and password.

The RepairTRACK web site will provide a UPS return label to send the product in for repair or replacement, or it will direct you to the nearest service center or Technical Support number. Althought freight costs into RepairTRACK service are not covered under warranty, it is offered for free on many products that are sent in through the web site.

RepairTRACK also contains valuable information about the warranty on the product as well as any special programs or instructions needed to expedite the service.

  • From the moment it leaves your facility to the moment it returns, you will have the latest information.
  • Generate a Repair Return Authorization by printing out a UPS tracking number directly from the RepairTrack site.
